Hi Tweets -

Yesterday, Scott Downes, Kelly Boettinger, Janet Carroll and I went up
to Gibsons to see the Xantus' Hummingbird. We made the ferry with a
little more to spare (5 minutes) than Richard Rowlett. Got nice looks in
bright sunlight (yes, even the local Natural History Society guy was
surprised - they had expected a continuation of the nasty weather they
had been having). Particularly interesting in full sunlight was the
brilliant green back with flashing highlights of gold.

Tried in the afternoon for the Common Eider, but while we saw a variety
of other ducks, no sight for us of that "big black and white tanker of a
duck". We were all around Stanley Park. Hey Michael, is this guy still
around, or was our timing just bad?

Good Birding
