Tweets,

Quite a group was assembled at the Iowa-Beef plant entrail site along Hwy
12 today (Saturday 29 November). There were no gulls, presumably because
there was no action dumping innards. So, the report of a possible
Band-tailed (Belcher's) or Black-tailed Gull remains just that, a report.
Surely the crews will be back hard at work Monday, unless demand for beef
has plummeted due to food safety issues or seasonal shifts in demand for
protein (turkeys versus bovines) and hence Iowa-Beefs normal three shifts
might have been reduced.

Mike and Merrry lynn Denny did have good birds staked out nearby: one
White-throated and 4-5 Harris' Sparrows at their "feeder" in Madame Dorian
Park at the junction of Hwys 12 and 730. The feeding area is at the
southeast end of the lawn area as you enter the park. Look west from the
southeast corner of the lawn beyond a gate by the gravel lane (almost
directly west of the restrooms). Their seed is put out at the edge of the
lawn by dense brush about 50' west of this corner.

Also, there were thousands of waterfowl in the "display" pool at McNary
Refuge a few miles north, another bonus for the drive.
