Saturday, Nov. 29, 8:12 p.m. The following report was filed via
e-mail today at 7:44 p.m. by Gayle Benton, phone
360-376-4909: At the Samish flats today, there were at least
two PEREGRINES, a couple of ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS,
the usual variety of RED TAILS, and a beautiful GRAY-PHASE
GYRFALCON, first seen on Bayview-Edison Rd. near the
intersection of Sullivan Road and later farther east on Sunset.
Thank you.

Saturday, Nov. 29, 4:22 p.m. This is Wilson Cady,
360-835-5947. Saturday the 29th, I checked on four different
occasions for the BLACK PHOEBE at the Washougal Sewage
Lagoons. I found him easily each time. There's been a lot of
people coming in and seeing it, and the city and the police
department do not seem to be concerned about people climbing
the fence. The police department is recommending it. Also on
the Staggerwall Refuge, which unfortunately is closed to the
public, I found a HARRIS'S SPARROW today. Thank you.
Goodbye.

Saturday, Nov.29, 9:15 a.m. This is Alan Goodin at 720-1386
with an update on the XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD in B.C. It's
still in Gibsons, as the previous reports have said. We saw it on
Friday, the 28th, during the middle of the day for a couple of
hours. We took the 9:20 ferry. And it's coming a little bit less
frequently than had been said earlier. I think it had three visits in
the course of an hour and a half. Good luck.

Friday, Nov. 28, 6:29 p.m. Hi, this is Ruth Taylor,
206-525-6345. Wanted to report that the NORTHERN
MOCKINGBIRD was seen again today between around 1:45
and 2:30 close to the area described in yesterday's report. It was
spending a lot of time on the fence slightly south of the little
park on Russell Road and also in the brambles immediately
adjacent to Russell Road. And sitting up on the fence and on top
of the brambles and pretty conspicuous. Good luck and good
birding.

Friday, Nov. 28, 11:20 a.m. This is Andy Stepniewski reporting
for 28th of November. This is a message from Mike Denny of
Walla Walla. He reports either a BLACK TAILED or JAPANESE
GULL or a BAND-TAILED, also known as BELCHER's GULL
at the Walla Walla River poop piles on Highway 12 south of
Pasco in Walla Walla County about 1 mile north of the Walla
Walla River delta, best seen between 11 in the morning and 2
p.m. He's not totally sure which one, but he believes it's one of
the two. Second-year plumage. My number is 509-877-6639.
His number is 509-529-0080. Good luck. I guess he's asking for
help in identification.

Thursday, Nov. 27, 2:04 p.m. Hi, this is Jim Flynn, and I just
thought I should mention that the MOCKINGBIRD and the
PRAIRIE FALCON that you'll hear about next were both
originally found by Roger Orness. Thanks. Bye bye.

Thursday, Nov. 27, 2:01 p.m. Hi, this is Jim Flynn at
206-772-5568. Today at the Kent Ponds, along the north end of
Russell Road, just south of 212th, there was a NORTHERN
MOCKINGBIRD, which frequents the fence line and also at one
point flew across the river to Frager Road into a Holly tree.
That's on that side of the river. And also at the Kent Ponds this
morning was a PRAIRIE FALCON. Apparently, it has been in
the area for at least a month, but I didn't find about it until
today. Thanks a lot and good birding.

Thursday, Nov. 27, 8:56 a.m. Hi, this is Neal Komedal at
206-723-4444. Couple of days ago at Kubota Gardens Park,
there was a BARRED OWL in the parking lot area in some
spruce trees. And it was only there for one day. And let's see,
on Friday, we saw three RED PHALAROPES at Ilwaco at the
Big Park Boat Launch. OK, thanks, bye.
