Hi Tweeters,
The Black-headed Gull was again present on the Everett STP. Birders
present were Jack Stephens, Steve Mlodinow, Toby Andrews and myself.
The bird was first seen at the South end at around 8:45 am with
approximately a half dozen Boneparte Gulls. It is a distinctive looking
bird with a near complete dark brown hood. While we were there many
more Bonepartes arrived as well as two immature Franklin Gulls. The BH
Gull moved around quite a bit flying to the North end of the ponds and
then South again and over the South road.
Also seen in the area which includes a short trip to Spencer Island
were:
Horned Grebe
Eared Grebe
Western Grebe (on the ponds)
