Hi tweets,

I just received a message that a female-immature type American Redstart has
been found in the small town of Tofino on the mid-outer coast of Vancouver
Island. I believe this is the second record for this area. I wonder what
other interesting birds are awaiting to be found this weekend? If any one
is interested, it appeared in what can arguably be called the 'backyard
birding hotspot of North America'. For those who might have already
guessed, it was in Rory Patterson's yard. Her yard has turned up:

Oriental Turtle Dove
Indigo Bunting
Lark Sparrow
Harris' Sparrow
Black-footed Albatross
Bay-breasted Warbler
Brambling
Hooded Warbler (or very close by)
Probable Prairie Warbler ( this would be a new race for N.A. hah, hah)
etc. etc.

cheers,

Don Cecile
