One of the more annoying consequences of spam, not last on those who spam
lists like this, is that the spam generates a ton of traffic about the spam
itself.

In this case, there was one question about the origins of the practice
of labelling such stuff spam, and that, I think, was OK though it was
about pork, not birds :)

And, I know, it's really tempting to congratulate Dan (good job Dan!), to
complain about the spammer (boo-hiss on you!), and to in general post on
the spam to the group. "naughty spammer! naughty spammer!" as 20 people
hit "send" in unison.

But ... when we do, we're just playing into the spammers hands, you know?

If we each, instead, e-mail the postmaster at aol, well, I don't mind the
notion of that person getting flooded with mail as a result of his customer's
spam!

But, let's not flood tweeters!
