TWEETS,
I was successful at seeing the SHARP-TAILED in heavy rain with only one
PECTORAL. I ran into a friend at the Oyster House who hadn't found it and we
went back. Just as we got there, a HARRIER cruised over and 60 shorebirds
went off and only a few came back including 4 calling SHORT-BILLED
DOWITCHERS. No SHARP-TAILED to be seen.
Last year the SHARP-BILLED was around for days but would come and go.
There are many pools in the area (most of which can not be seen from the
road) after the rains that have even hit the rainshadow. The horse pond is
about half full. There are more birds on it at high tide (but it is fresh
water).
If you do go to the area, please park at the 3 Crabs and walk to the pond
per the request of the owner.
