Tweets,

The 3 Crabs horse pond is a few hundred meters east of the 3 Crabs
restaurant, down 3 Crabs Road, on the east side of a large white horse
barn. The ponds nearly dried up this summer, as the land owners trapped
the beavers that flooded nearby Meadowbrook Creek. Recent rains have
half filled the ponds and the shorebirds are using it in good numbers.
These ponds are wonderfully close to the road, so birds are very visible.

As Bob Norton said in his post, the owner does not like birders parking
along the edge of the road by the corrals, so park near the restaurant
and walk down the 3 Crabs Road to the ponds. Actually, the owner doesn't
really like birders much at all, so please be tactful if approached -- we
locals want to continue the best relations possible, as it is a great
place to see shorebirds.

The Sharp-tailed Sandpiper spent most of its time in early afternoon by a
clump of cattails only 10-15 m from the road, easily visible with binos,
and easily compared with Pectorals with it. It is a fresh-plumaged
juvenile, with nice reddish cap and tawny-buffy breast.
