On Sunday, Oct. 5, I received a call from a friend in Tofino who found a
Tropical Kingbird at the Long Beach Parking Lot. He also mentioned that the
American Redstart, identified as a female, had apparently left the area.
The redstart was initially found on Thursday Oct. 2 and remained in town
until sometime Saturday Oct. 4.
Of course, it goes without saying that this was one of very few autumn
weekends that I spent at home rather than making the trek to Tofino!
