Hi Tweeters,

Molly Hukari, Gene Revelas and I took a trip over to Okanogan County this
weekend. On Saturday, we birded the area around Tiffany Mountain and Roger
Lake. It was COLD up there... We saw several White-winged Crossbills, a
Blue Grouse, and a nice male Three-toed Woodpecker right in Tiffany Spring
Campground. On the hike to Tiffany Lake, we had a feeding flock of Boreal
Chickadees. Molly 'dipped' on dragonfly at Roger lake... We stayed up high
until about 10 PM trying for Boreal owl. At about 9 PM, we had a single
'Skew!' response to our tape (possible Boreal Owl?), but alas no owl
sighted. The next morning (Sunday 10 AM), while birding the Okanogan River
Delta near Brewster (the confluence of the Okanogan and Columbia Rivers;
see W&P E9 p 109), we found an Ash-throated Flycatcher and a male Surf
Scoter. Both of these birds seem unusual for the location and time of year.

Gene is writing up a detailed trip report and description of these records,
which I'll post when we get it done.
