I just returned from Europe -- which I again found pretty tame
compared to North America with respect to birds, especially in
the trimmed and gardened countries like Switzerland, Austria,
and, surprisingly, Slovakia and the Czech R.

In the much birdier Hungary, I went to some trouble to find
Great Bustards in the Hortobagy and would be glad to talk
to anyone interested in the geographical details.
