This morning (Monday, 10/6) while walking in the Lake Hills Greenbelt in
Bellevue, WA, I got an excellent look at 2 Common Snipes feeding along one
of the ditches that runs along the blueberry fields, east of Larsen Lake.
They were paying no mind to the many walkers who marched right by. Me, they
worried about a little, because I did not behave like the other humans, I
stopped and looked. But still I was within 10 feet of them!! I was able to
watch them for about 15 minutes. Only the 2nd time I've seen snipes.

Saturday, on a trip to the Montlake fill in Seattle, (during the monsoon!)
I saw a Long-billed Dowitcher, and 3 American Pipits at the main pond
before the wind got to me.
