Jane Hadley wrote tweeters (9/28/97):
"Today we saw a Snowy Egret standing next to a Great Egret along the Dike
Road to Bay Center (on the muddy shores of the Palix River). (Bay Center is
about 15 miles southwest of South Bend & Raymond. It is a peninsula
bordered on the east by the Palix River and on the west by
Willapa Bay.)"

Today, 10/07/97, I located a single Snowy Egret (likely Jane's bird) near
the above location. It was feeding along the shore of the channel at the
mouth of the Palix River. This bird appears to be 'staying put' at a
location which is both of ornithological interest and easily covered
without leaving a vehicle (photo opps. for Snowy Egret, Eurasian Wigeon,
and Pacific Golden-Plover today)!
