Near Stan Sayres Park (hydro pits/Mt Baker boathouse) last night seeking
shelter from the general bluster were wigeons, honkers, lesser scaup,
mallard, manycoots, a few gadwalls, and one GBH struggling with the wind.
The winter crew is arriving.
Does anyone know whether there was a successful osprey family in Seward
Park this past summer? Someone there told me so the other day, but I have
seen only baldies and the rumor is they live on Mercer Island, not at
Seward. Another rumor is that a pair of river otters have been sighted
along the east side, near the outflow of the fish hatchery; any sightings?
