This afternoon, Fri., we had a female Western Tanager in our back yard.
Since we are only about 8 blocks from where we saw one on Oct. 5th, this
could be the same one.

So far this month there have been a number of birds that are showing up for
the first time in the Lake Hills Greenbelt since last spring. A list
follows:

Ring-necked Duck -- 1st since May 10
Gadwall -- 1st since July 5
Dark-eyed Junco -- 1st since April 5
Golden-crowned Sparrow -- 1st since May 3
Ruby-crowned Kinglet -- 1st since April 5
Hooded Merganser -- 1st since May 10
Northern Shoveler -- 1st since May 17
Fox Sparrow -- 1st since April 5
Lincoln's Sparrow -- 1st since Mar. 22
Winter Wren -- 1st since April 5
