Ah, my personal favorite from back in Virginia. I *do* miss them. They
certainly wouldn't displace house finches. In fact, we got the finches in
larger numbers back East than Cardinals, almost to the point of being a
pest. Ahhh, to hear Cardinals singing in the morning again... Cardinals
don't seem to be too aggressive, but just their arrival itself would
certainly cause some population impact on something... Good question.
I'll keep my hopes up regardless (realising this kind of move takes years
regardless....)
