One thing that always delights me this time of year, besides the
combination of sun and snow capped mountain peaks, is the interesting
congragations of birds that gather together. Saturday, while I was
happily waiting at a small beach in Southworth for my paddling partners
to show up, I watched a small group of birds having their noon time
siesta. The sleepy group was bunched up together on a small area of
sand and was comprised of 20 Black Turnstones, one Lesser Yellowlegs,
two Killdeers, one Boneparte's and two unidentified larger gulls.
