I saw four Fork-tailed Storm-Petrels off Alki about 4:20 PM. They were
barely visible in the distance moving south, flying low and rather directly,
but with occasional swoops and turns, once showing clearly the gray belly,
but hardly more than specks really. I believe these are the first county
records. Curiously Leach's has been reported previously but not Fork-tailed.

Watched a fine adult female Peale's Peregrine in a dog-fight with a Merlin
at the Kent ponds this morning. Four Pectoral Sandpipers and four
Long-billed Dowitchers still there. Fifteen W. Meadowlarks had just arrived
since last week.
