On the 10/11/97 Protection Island/Rat Island-Kilisut Harbor birding cruise
we observed the following species:

Brown Pelican - Approx 30 on Violet Spit, on the eastern point on
Protection Island. Most were hunkeed down but one pelican took off & made a
pass over the boat on its way toward Cape George.
