I took the ferry from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria B.C the other day. As
well as seeing Dall's Porpoise Pacific White-sided Dolphin and both
Harbour Seals and California Sea Lion, I also saw Common and Thick-billed
Murres in groups of 2 to 15(Winter plumage), sometimes both species mixed
together. White-winged Scoters(Several), 1 Yellow-billed Loon(Winter
Plumage) , Ancient Murrelets , Glacous Gulls, Glacous-winged Gulls,
Heermans Gulls, Sabines and Bonapartes gulls(Winter Plumage), California
Gulls, Olympic Gull(One), Western Gulls and several other feeding on what
was probably an Orca kill. The water was filled with life.
