I have a pair of red breasted nuthatches that live here all year long.
They eat from my mixed seed feeder all the time, as well as from the
suet cage. They also like the peanut butter mixture I put out for the
woodpeckers. But they seem to prefer black oil sunflower seeds. I also
have a family of white breasted nuthatches. Yesterday I watched one of
them hiding sunflower seeds under the shingles on my shed roof. Hope he
can find them again before the squirrels do!

Enjoy! I love backyard birding the best! I had two young cardinal
males eating from the platform feeder today. The brighter red one
chased away the duller red one. Must be time to set up their
territories!
