Hi Sharon!
As you will see from my signature file, I am from upstate NY. I live in
a town of approx. 8000. In back of my house is a stand of hardwood
trees. Mostly butternut trees. The woodpeckers and nuthatches love
this area. I keep my feeders filled all the time and my birdbath heated
in the wintertime. I have 8 large blue spruce pines that runs between
my property and the neighbors. The chickadees have set up their home in
them. They are a joy. I have fed a couple of them from my hand.

Today I had two young cardinal males visit my platform feeder. One
chased the other off, so I am suspecting that it is time to set up
territories. I have red breasted nuthatches as well a white breasted
nuthatches. This year we even have a yellow bellied sap sucker. He's
been pecking away at one of the butternut trees that has seen better
days. We also had a common flicker, but I think he may have been
passing through. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the slate gray
juncos. They arrive in late fall and stay with me until spring. They
are spirited and fun to watch. I also have a plethora of morning doves
and pigeons. The pigeons have some interesting mannerisms. They do a
bobbing and circling dance when they want to mate.

I am glad you found this list. It is always nice to have new people to
share birding experiences with.

Welcome!--
