Amy McQuade led an E. Lake Wa. AS (ELWAS) field trip the length of Whidbey
Is. on Sat., Oct. 11. A total of 68 species were recorded. Highlights
included: L-b Dowitchers, Lesser Yellowlegs, Stilt Sandpiper, and Cinnamon
Teal at Crockett L. Harlequin Ducks and Black-legged Kittiwakes at Partridge
Point. At Bos L. they saw more of the common shorebirds at the lake and on
the seaward side saw all three scoter species, Common and Red-throated Loons,
six gull species including Heermann's. Also during the trip they recorded
four grebe species, three cormorant species, Greater White-fronted Geese,
American Pipit, Fox and Lincoln's Sparrows.
