There are scrub jays in the Olympia area, although I don't think the
numbers are large. Brings up another interesting point though; someone
posted recently that blue jays are dependant on acorns during the winter. I
don't know how depndant scrub jays are on acorns, but they sure make use of
them. So scrub jay/ blue jay may be a more direct interspecific conflict
than Stellar's jay/ blue jay, if they should ever come into contact.
