I had just a few min before driving off to Burien P&R for express Metro to
the UW. Seen off the fishing pier was my first Red-necked grebe of the
season. Also foraging just south of the pier was a Marbled murrelet in
crisp and perfect basic plumage; they are seen close to our shores on
occasion. And one of the resident adult Bald eagles was cruising
overhead. AND, for the first time in my 30+ years of birding, a seagull
"bombed" me; yep, it had to be on my carefully-arranged-for-the-workplace,
sprayed-in-place hairdo. I did manage to get "it" blotted
off..........yuk!

Quite a beautiful, calm morning on this part of the Sound (no petrels or
shearwaters in sight; I looked diligently.....any of these species would
be life birds, too.)
