Gene Hunn, Seattle, re. Scrub Jay in Bellingham.

Sounds like a county first. There are several records for Seattle, even a
nesting record for Enumclaw; very small numbers are now hanging about
Tacoma, more at Olympia; one was reported this past year near Sequim, I
believe for a first Clallam Co. record. They are common residents certainly
north to Longview-Kelso and perhaps to Chehalis. They' have also been moving
east up the Columbia R. gorge where they now are regular at least east to
Lyle, with the odd sighting in Yakima... They seem to be slowly expanding
their range here. I seem to recall also a persistent bird near or in
Vancouver, B.C. say two years back. Please correct me if you've got more up
to date or precise infomation.
