This is a story of: "Boy, I wish somebody had a video camera!":

My husband and I were visiting his mother in Newark, NY, last spring, a
few miles from the Montazuma Wildlife Refuge. Flocks of Snow Geese and
Canadian Geese, (intermingled) literally cover both sides of the roads,
due to the large number of corn fields in the area. I wanted to get a
"close up" view of this tremendous sight, so my husband pulled over to
let me get out of the car and see the birds. I carefully and quietly,
(I thought) , climbed down the bank to walk closer to a cornfield full
of snow and Canadian Geese. Thousands of them! As I was walking
carefully over to the gaggle, they just started simply to walk away from
me......until someone got spooked! Have you ever experienced a gaggle
of thousands of geese taking off into the wild blue yonder because you
stepped on a branch! It was awesome. I didn't mean to do it, but it
was quite impressive, none the less! My husband shook his head and
said: "NANCY! What did you DO?!?" I felt like a little kid in a field
of butterflies! Wonderful experience.
