Mr. Dougherty, who is very concerned about the "deformed" finches
at his feeder, lives along the old hwy (Hwy 99) near Fife (only
3 miles from Fife I believe).

Mr. Dougherty was a little confused, calling the birds "House Wren"
but mentioning their red heads and talking about the young ones being
brown and not yet showing the red on their heads. He did, however,
carefully describe large lumps on their throats as well as near their
eyes. In my brief review of the excellent aol members web site, I
felt that avian pox was a much better fit than the Mycoplasma that
is described as affecting the eyes only. Also, there are real questions
about the existence of the Mycoplasma out here in the west.
