This may be easy for most- well, here it goes anyways
How in the world can you tell the difference between
Fox Sparrows
Lincoln Sparrows
Song Sparrows
I have a very deep brown sparrow, ground feeding mostly that has a spottled
chest and a very light eye stripe, the Audobon guide and Peterson's guide I
have are not very helpful. (or maybe I just can't tell the difference)
I also have a sparrow that I thought was a Golden crowned but has no white
on
its head(or black) the center stripe is yellow with the two outside stripes
deep brown on its crown.(ground feeding also, typically late in the
evening.)
Help. (and if you have any input on good books for sparrow reference I would
be grateful)
