I did a quick trip to the lighthouse at Discovery Park at noon today, and
managed to see the Fork-tailed Storm-Petrels. At least I'm pretty sure I saw
them. Very hard to see, and very far off. I was scoping at about 50x, and I
could just make out small grey birds with slightly backswept wings flying VERY
low over the water. Occasionally, one would circle and land on the water for
about 1 second, then take off again. They seemed to stay fully out in the
shipping channel. There were at least five to ten.

I had much closer looks at two Parasitic Jaeger, both adult light-phase. At
one point, around 20 Common Tern gathered together right off from the
lighthouse, and a Jaeger came after one of them. The tern promptly dropped
something which the Jaeger caught, and just then I had a perfect view of the
underside of the Jaeger, and the long tail streamers - in perfect sunlight.
Unforgettable.

Many Common Tern, Bonapartes Gull, and Rhino Auklet. All three scoter. And
dozens of Heerman's Gulls, being almost as agressive as the Jaegers.
