Jim Elder (jime at eskimo.com) says;

"The reason my first reaction was Mourning Dove was because it was about
the size of a Mourning Dove and had a long pointed tail like a Mourning
Dove. In fact I think it was longer and more pointed but the body was a
bit slighter. Obviously I can't be exactly sure of the size as I was
going 60 mph and it was not near anything of comparable size for
comparison. It was definitely smaller than a subcompact car. :-)

no, no lost "friends" here. i am just interested to hear more about
your sighting, that's all. it does sound like a cockatiel from your
description, though.
