The following is from BirdWest which is a synopsis of bird alerts from the
western US and Canada. It is all RBAs or birdboxes and nothing but RBAs
and birdboxes. This is a nice relief for those who do not have time for
the tweeters-type discussions. There are perhaps 20-30 messages per week
on this list. To subscribe send the message

For the most recent bird news call the Washington Ornithological
Society''s BirdBox at 425 454-2662.

A boat trip to Protection Island on the 19th failed to produce the BROWN
BOOBY which had been seen on the 17th and 18th. However, a PARASITIC
JAEGER was seen from the boat as were 15 BROWN PELICANS and a
SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was seen at the pond near the Three Crabs
Restaurant in Sequim. Also at the pond were PECTORAL SANDPIPERS and
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS.

A RED PHALAROPE may have been seen from the Kingston Ferry landing and
three PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen annoying BONAPARTE''S GULLS there.

A single FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL was seen near the Edmonds ferry dock
on the 19th. This is down somewhat from the 1100 reported in the Sound
from one location earlier in the week.

Two LITTLE GULLS and at least nine PARASITIC JAEGERS were at Pt. Roberts
on the 19th.

An adult LITTLE GULL was seen south of Rosario near Deception Pass on
the 18th.

Three AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were seen off Blake Island last week.
