I have a Bogen 3001 tripod for my Kowa scope, which works fine...and its
relatively lightweight.
Warning: Unless you're under 5'5", get the model 3001L not 3001...the L
gets you a longer center post, so you don't have to bend over...ABA sells
them (also the L center post separately if you ordered the wrong one like I
did)
