As a test, I just unsubscribed from Tweeters. It worked fine. I then
tried to resubscribe, but this time I filled in the "subject" line to see
if that was in fact the problem. Again, my request worked fine, so it
seems the blank subject line is not necessary after all. So if the
problem is most likely with what you're sending, not with the listproc
computer. I'd suggest reading the "invalid request" message carefully to
see if that tells you what the problem is.

Alternatively, it may be time to call in the Marines. There IS a person
who oversees the list, not only a computer, and that person can probably
help you. While our usual guardian angel, Dan Victor
<dvictor at u.washington.edu> is in Costa Rica, Steve Hallstrom
<steveh at u.washington.edu> is managing the list. Send him an e-mail and
maybe he can straighten your problems out.
