Deb - The bird I saw matches your description of a juv. Western about as
well as it matches the pictures of the Clark's. I could not really tell the
color of the bill (it was in that curious morning light coming in under fog,
and everything was yellow-orange). The side color is not really something I
could judge - it did seem different from the nearby Westerns, but I wouldn't
want to swear to it.

This bird had white lores, but also had a diagonal black line running from
the eye to the beak (thus separating the white lores from the cheek). Have
you seen this on juv. Westerns?

I did take some pictures, but the distance was great, and I doubt they will
be good for much.
