Persistence pays off! I and Nancy Ladenberger arrived at 7:45 am this
morning and the bird was not seen by us until 3:40 PM. It was flying in a
feeding flock to the left of the left spit on Protection Island. I was
suprided that even at this distance the birds white underwings and belly
and the bright yellow beak were gorgeous. Before returning to Diamond Pt.
at about 3:25, we checked for Kingbird with no luck. No Pelicans to my
knowledge were present at anytime today on Violet Pt.
