Hi Tweets,

Saw what I think was a Winter Wren on my back deck this afternoon. The
breast was a little darker than the pictures in my books, but the size &
shape of the bird was right. I tried to find it again and started to look
closer at the birds under the Douglas fir. I've been taking a beginning
birding course and believe I saw two Golden-crowned Sparrows along with the
Junco and Pine Siskens there. Are the markings more like the Juvenile in
the fall? By the time I looked them up they were gone so I didn't see if
they had white on the throat. And are the male and female similar?

Also seen today were a female Downy Woodpecker, Bushtits, Chestnut-backed
Chickadees and a Redbreasted Nuthatch.
