This past week I took went spelunking (caving) in some local caves. To my
suprise, as I exited one of the caves, a Dipper was roosting overhead inside
the cave entrance. Apparently it had intentions of spending the night there
since it was already dark outside the caves. The nearby habitat certainly
falls within Dipper habitat, and caves such as these often have water
running through them (not that there would be much insect life in that
water..) so I wonder if Dippers commonly roost in caves since many would be
in the vicinity of their habitat? (running water through limestone makes
caves, running water is needed for dippers).
