hello tweeters.
I will take the opportunity since no one report this cruise with peter
badam, from the port townsent marine science center.the reason i went,to
see the BROWN BOOBY.the trip was planted for a cruise around protection
island also smith island.i spend two hours prior to my cruise,on diamond
point, looking for the brown booby, to no avail.we try to make a great
blue herron in to one.cause the lighting was't verry good either. also the
bird in queston showed only his back.
the boat trip started at 1-00pm in the afternoon and lasted to 4-00p i
noticed the view birds we saw around protection island the beach, which had
the brown booby was deserted not like the week before, where there was lots
off gulls on the beach. so we din't see the booby.
the highlight off the trip was a YELLOW-BILLED LOON in almost full breeding
plumage.this bird had a complete bright yellow bill. i saw manny
YELLOW-BILLED LOONS before but non like this one hopeful my photos comming
out good. we saw manny alcides and grebes this to mention fewon smith
island we saw lots of BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS SANDERLINGS and DUNLIN.there is
last trip this year in november,
I recomend this boat highly because it has plenty room to sit inside the
cabin plenty storage place enough room on deck if you go outside and what
is so impressive the boat has a guide which keep you informed what been
sighted. this is done over the loud-speaker, so everybody is informed what
is going on.
