I'm glad to hear that the little guy is doing okay. I do so love Cedar
Waxwings--it'd be a tragedy if he died. I'm pleased to hear that you'll
be going over there today. Please let me know how he looks!

Cedar Waxwings are actually rather easy to feed. Please relay
this to your friend, because he will need a varied diet in order to get
better. While the berries are all well and good, they can't be his whole
diet, or he will suffer from malnutrition.

A Cedar Waxwing should be fed:

1. A variety of no-pesticide fruits, cut up into large sections:
grapes (red and green)
strawberries
blueberries
raspberries/blackberries
apple

2. She can get a small package of mynah bird food at a pet store. A
couple of pellets mixed in with the fruit each feeding.

3. She can also get mealworms from the local pet store. Just mix in a
couple each feeding, and this will give him his needed high-protien.
