You might be able to find someone who could at least
give advice over the phone. Some rehabbers are quite
strict about having the bird brought to them (since
technically, it should be handled only by someone with
the proper state and federal permits), but others are
understanding about the problem of distances and
lack of facilities.

I can only speak about Bohemian waxwings, which
are indeed sweethearts and love mountain ash or
chokecherry berries (offer them frozen). They will
sometimes also eat mealworms or mealworm pupae.
They make the most beautiful silvery little jingling noises
like tiny sleigh bells. One of our volunteers has been
caretaking one that is over 10 years old now.

And I agree with Jacki's good tips on how to handle
injured passerines.
