Hello, this is Portland Audubon Societys Rare Bird Report. This recording was made Thursday October 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at 233-3976.

A HAWK OWL was reported October 25 at Mt. Hood Community College in Troutdale. It has not been verified or relocated.

A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was in Bend October 24, but left soon after being verified. A MAGNOLIA WARBLER was photographed in Summer Lake during the week.

Two TROPICAL KINGBIRDS were along Netarts Bay Road, south of the boat basin October 26. An OLDSQUAW was on Netarts Bay the day before. A small white-bellied shearwater, possibly a BLACK-VENTED was with a SOOTY SHEARWATER off Tierra Del Mar, near Pacific City October 26. A large feeding flock of birds was in that area the day before. Many SOOTY SHEARWATERS and an ANCIENT MURRELET were off Boiler Bay October 26.

Three LONG-BILLED CURLEWS were in a large shorebird gathering on Pony Slough at Coos Bay October 27. Many shorebirds and waterbirds were east of Florence October 25. That day a NORTHERN SHRIKE, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, and 4 late BARN SWALLOWS were near the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River. A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, a NORTHERN SHRIKE, and a SNOW BUNTING were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River October 26.

Seven BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were at their North Portland roosting site at Faloma October 25. A PACIFIC LOON continues to be seen at Roslyn Lake near Sandy. A PRAIRIE FALCON was at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood October 25. Four SURF SCOTERS, 3 TUNDRA SWANS, and 29 COMMON LOONS were on Timothy Lake that day.

Four CINNAMON TEAL and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were on the Independence Sewage Ponds October 23. Two RED-NECKED GREBES and a SURF SCOTER were at the Forest Grove Ponds October 24. A possible MOCKINGBIRD, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 6 TUNDRA SWANS, and 2 WHITE-TAILED KITES wre near Finley NWR during the week.

On October 24, 19 GREAT EGRETS and 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were at Plat I Reservoir near Sutherlin. Among a swarm of AMERICAN WIGEON on nearby Cooper Creek Reservoir were 3 EURASIAN WIGEON.

Two PINYON JAYS were in Link River Park in Klamath Falls October 27.
