Hi, Tweeters--

There was a posting in my mail about this refuge and I'm sorry to say that I
have somehow "mislaid--misfiled--???) it. Still a new user--sorry.

It was great to hear someone else so enthusiastic about the preserve. We
have been going to AZ every winter for about 10 years and it was only about
four years ago that we returned via I-5 (awful route!) and stopped for "just
a few minutes while we're in the area and ahead of schedule" rest stop.
Two-and-a half hours later we resumed our journey northward!

This last winter, on March 2nd, we allowed ourselves some extra time and saw
35 species including a Common Moorhen (which we seem to see less and less
frequently), an Ibis (sp), stilts and avocets, 12 sp. of ducks, Virginia Rail
(heard), and a perched White-tailed Kite. It was a lovely morning!
