Sorry I didn't save the original post, but I thought I'd add a few
comments. If one is in the area of Sac NWR for any length of time, there
are several other refuges worth checking out; Delevan NWR, Colusa NWR, and
Grey Lodge "Waterfowl Management Area", all on DeLorme p. 77. Species seen
at each are not likely to be dramatically different, but snow geese are
more common at Sac, for instance, while greater white-fronted are more
common at Delevan. And if you're already travelling I-5, there are some
other possibilities: there is a new refuge being created just off I-80,
about 8 miles west of I-5. It's called Yolo Basin something-or-other, not
on DeLorme, but would be p. 85, D1. Further south is the Woodbridge
Wildlife Refuge, a great area to see tundra swans and sandhill cranes.
Again it's not in DeLorme, but it's on Woodbridge Road, p. 96, C3. And then
further south you come to, well, Kesterson, so nevermind...

By the way, any ibis seen in that area is almost certainly white-faced. I
would say certainly, but not wanting to risk the wrath of Michael Price, I
include the qualifier. :-)
