Subject: Robinson Canyon?

I am one of five people that are planning a trip to Washington and
B.C. the week of Oct. 4-12. Some of you have already had written
letters from us. But, I have another question.

We will arrive at SeaTac by noon on Sat. 10/4. Our final destination
for Saturday evening is Ellensburg so that we can search for gray
partridge at the airport at dusk. We are trying to decide where to
spend a few hours of quality birding that afternoon. I have heard a
great deal about the Wenas Creek area. We don't have the time to do
that! "A Guide to Birdfinding in Washington" states that Robinson
Canyon has the same kind of birds with the possiblity of prairie
falcon and chukar (two of our target birds). Is this still true? Is
this area worth a visit? Is there any hunting at that time of year?
Any other suggestions for birding spots close to I-90 between SeaTac
and Ellensburg?

Thanks again to those of you who have answered our letters and thanks
in advance to anyone answering this request. Please send answers to
me privately unless you feel that all Tweeters would like to hear your
answer!
