Wow, it really pays to level criticism at Kelly Cassidy. Now I have
a very useful summary of a large body of written information (a
rather complete historical review it appears) and I didn't have to do
hardly anything. I know Kelly's dissertation on the subject is long but
well worth reading. Personally, I'll print it and make good use of
it.

Kelly, now that you have made a reasoned and fact-filled argument for
your previously unsubstantiated statement (about Upland Sandpipers
suffering decline during conversion of the Palouse to farmland), I
concede that at least a few pairs of Upland Sandpipers probably were
lost to the conversion of the Palouse.
