If these spiders are of species essentially only mildly-toxic to humans, may
I make the gentle suggestion that you might more profitably consider sharing
your house, considering the good they do, and thereby need less insecticide?
Spiders aren't wanting your house, they only want to eat bugs.

I think this is a tactic that web-weavers use to bring a potential prey
critter or threat into further contact with more sticky web-strands, or
maybe to dislodge a too-large prey critter from the web before it causes too
much damage.
