I agree with Kelly McA. Eastern Gray Squirrels and Scrub Jays are, to
our knowledge, associated primarily with deciduous trees, or mixed
conifer/deciduous woodlands in Washington. (I'm not sure if the
Scrub-Jay occupies Pinon-Juniper woodland without oaks outside of
Washington.) They like bird feeders and peanuts, too. The Eastern Gray
is, thus far, always associated with people in Washington, and the
Scrub-Jay is traveling north along developed corridors as well.
