I just went through Peterson's Birds of Britian and Europe and didn't find
anything that matched your description. There were several birds that were
similar like the Red-flanked blue tail, but as it's name implies, the blanks
are red so that won't match. The only Jays I show are the Jay and Siberian
Jay, both of whom are brownish.

No help at all, I'm afraid.
