When I saw your message I thought this thread sounded familiar. In
looking at my files I found copies of a similar thread from
2/13-14/95. Partners in Flight does have a list which addresses some
of your concerns. There are fours lists:

A list - Species which breed in North America and spend their
nonbreeding period south of the US.

B list - Species which breed and winter extensively in the North
America with some populations wintering south of the US.

C list - Those species which breed along the US/Mexican border and
winter South of the US.

D list - Species which breed in Florida and vacate the US in winter.

Interestingly, Mike Smith told me that the GAP analysis has this list
in the database, so perhaps with a little bit of searching you can
find it.
